This one off piece ( I say that as I have never seen anything like this before ) measures in at a huge 1925 w x 925 h. The work that has gone into this piece is huge. One of many little pools found rite at the bottom of the gorges within Karijini National Park. I am excited to be leading a group of five there again in April for five days, and this is one place we will visit which is only accessible with a certified guide.
We arrived @ Mesa Arch wanting to experience to glow that you see in all the pictures from the underneath of the arch… what we got was a bunch full of loud mouth americans who thought they owned place. They had arrived with camp chairs and thermos’s etc and one of the guys had the nerve to say to someone else ” I have driven over 1000 miles sir, and your wrecking my shot ” I had driven double that since I had been in America and flown even more just to get to the country, so Ill see you and raise you some JACKASS ! ! I have never seen anything like it, but in a way it forced me to try and get something different, which I did… Let me know what you think.. Oh, and if any of you assholes that were there happen to read this, pull your heads in you bunch of gooses ! !
As you are all aware, I have just returned from a three week trip in the USA with Mike Fletcher and Danny Irvine. In this time we covered approx 5500 klms and 5 states on our road trip and I think between us came away with some good stuff. It is a shame the weather didn’t play ball as we visited some awesome locations and I think our efforts would have been rewarded even more with better weather, but that is all part of the game I guess. It has been a little bit coming, but I have had lots to deal with here but am slowly getting back on track…. This is the latest snapshot of my USA images, which I hope to have up and ready very soon.. There is a few more shots than I first thought so its taking a lot longer, but its nearly show time……
This is a shot from The Wave, situated rite on the border of Arizona / Utah and approx a 3 mile hike each way from the carpark. This place is limited to only 20 people per day, and is very hard to get permits to access it… we were VERY lucky. It is a lot smaller than I first thought it would be and I can now see why only 20 people are allowed each day, anymore and there would be fights out there I reckon… there nearly was ! I am slowly making my way through my images from USA, this is just the second image I have really looked at so far…. What do you think ?
