25th - 29th August, 2022
Price: $2950 aud
Duration: 5 nights
Widely known as “The Land of Fire and Ice”, Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe, and some of the world's most active volcanoes. Iceland is also the land of light and darkness. Long summer days with near 24 hours of sunshine are offset by short winter days with only a few hours of daylight.
Iceland is the second largest island in Europe, following Great Britain, and the 18th largest island in the world. The island itself stretches across 103,000 km2 (40,000 square miles), and is about the same size as Hungary and Portugal, or Kentucky and Virginia.
On this tour we plan to take you to some of Iceland's most well known spots along with some of its lesser known, but equally as impressive locations as well. We plan on photographing waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, volcanic craters and with a bit of luck, The Northern Lights into all hours of the night.
With almost 80% of the country uninhabited, much of Iceland's terrain consists of plateaus, mountain peaks, and fertile lowlands. There are many long, deep fjords and glaciers, including Europe's largest, Vatnajökull. Get ready for an amazing 13 days of absolutely nothing but photography and adventure exploring this amazing country.
This mini adventure is a pre-cursor to the main event, a tour we are running over 2 weeks directly after this and will inlcude places / locations that we WILL NOT BE VISITING on the extended tour. If both are booked together, a $250 discount will apply to the total price.
* PLEASE ARRANGE TO ARRIVE AT KEFLAVIK AIRPORT, ICELAND ON AUGUST 24 ( DAY BEFORE TOUR STARTS ) *
25th - 25th August 2022 - ( Keflavik to Kirkjufell )
We depart the motel this morning bound for Kirkjufell. Kirkjufell is probably the most photgraphed mountain in Iceland and for good reason. Overnight accommoadtion will be in the nearby town of Grundarfjordur.
26th - 26th August 2022 - ( Kirkjufell to Hveravellir )
After a sunrise shoot at the iconic Kirjufell, we head back to the motel for breakfast and make our way towards the Hveravellir.
Hveravellir is one of Iceland’s most popular Oasis in the highlands whether your drive, hike or ride the Icelandic horse. The area offers various hiking trails through the wonders of the lava field or nearby spectacular mountain slope.
27th - 28th August 2022 - ( Hveravellir - Kerlingafjoll )
The Kerlingarfjöll area shows all the characters of a matured caldera. Those characters comprise variety of volcanic formations, high energy geothermal spots, rhyolite domes and remains of calderas. The mountains were created by eruptions from a large caldera lying under the mountains, the caldera still considered as active, although it has been silent for tens of thousands of years.
This place is a photographers dream.
29th - 29th August 2022 - ( Kerlingafjoll - Keflavik )
After a few nights in Kerlingafjoll, we make our way back towards Keflavik and the motel where we will be meeting the other guests who will be joining us on the extended tour over the next two weeks. Time for a shower, a good feed and recharge before we do it all over again.

All tours are conducted based on a minimum of participants booking. This may vary according to the tour you have chosen. What else do you need to know ?
There maybe some moderately energetic walking involved to get to certain locations so please consider this related to your physical abilities. If you have any other medical conditions that might affect your enjoyment of the workshop please let us know. Evening and early morning shoots will form part of the tour. You may choose to not participate in these but we recommend that you do take part.
Early morning shoot times are entirely dependant on the sunrise times so schedules we set for departure will need to be adhered to strictly. It’s not fair to the group as a whole to have to wait for a late riser so we will leave exactly at the times we say.
Please bring clothing suited to early morning or evening shoots that may be a little chilly, sturdy foot wear, hat, sunscreen and camera of course…. Like any trip away from home please bring personal medication requirements. We usually meet the evening before the workshop to have drinks and/or dine together and get to know each other. Please consider this when planning your travel arrangements.
