30th August - 12th September, 2022
Price: $6750 aud
Duration: 13 days
Widely known as “The Land of Fire and Ice”, Iceland is home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe, and some of the world's most active volcanoes. Iceland is also the land of light and darkness. Long summer days with near 24 hours of sunshine are offset by short winter days with only a few hours of daylight.
Iceland is the second largest island in Europe, following Great Britain, and the 18th largest island in the world. The island itself stretches across 103,000 km2 (40,000 square miles), and is about the same size as Hungary and Portugal, or Kentucky and Virginia.
On this tour we plan to take you to some of Iceland's most well known spots along with some of its lesser known, but equally as impressive locations as well. We plan on photographing waterfalls, glaciers, black sand beaches, volcanic craters and with a bit of luck, The Northern Lights into all hours of the night.
With almost 80% of the country uninhabited, much of Iceland's terrain consists of plateaus, mountain peaks, and fertile lowlands. There are many long, deep fjords and glaciers, including Europe's largest, Vatnajökull. Get ready for an amazing 13 days of absolutely nothing but photography and adventure exploring this amazing country.

4th - 4th September 2022 - ( Mÿvatn - Hengifoss )
Another early start to the day today and after breakfast we make our way towards Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss but not before a stop at the awesome Studlagill Canyon. It is an approx one hours hike in from the car park but well worth the effort.
Hengifoss is the third highest waterfall in Iceland, 128 meters. It is located in Hengifossá in Fljótsdalshreppur, East Iceland. It is surrounded by basaltic strata with thin, red layers of clay between the basaltic layers. Further down the Hengifossá river is Litlanesfoss, notable for the columnar jointed volcanics around it. Hengifoss is the most popular hiking site in East Iceland with path leading from the parking lot to the falls. It takes 40–60 minutes to walk to the waterfall.
5th - 5th September 2022 - ( Hengifoss - Laugarfell )
A short drive this morning to Laugarfell of approx 45 minutes where we begin our hike on " The Waterfall Circle "
The Waterfall Circle is an 8 kilometer long hiking trail that starts and ends in Laugarfell.
Along the path we will come across five waterfalls and one beautiful canyon. Some of these waterfalls are among the most powerful in Austurland (East Iceland). The most famous of these waterfalls are Kirkjufoss and Faxi.
After the hike, why not enjoy an ice cold beer or wine in the accommodation's hot pools ?
6th - 7th September 2022 - ( Laugarfell to Höfn )
This morning we make our way towards Höfn. Höfn is our base to explore the iconic Vestrahorn and its lesser known, but equally as impressive twin mountain, Eystrahorn.
8th - 9th September 2022 - ( Höfn - Hof )
Sunrise this morning will be at the iconic Vestrahorn before making our way to Hof for the next two nights. Depending on the weather, we might do a late afternoon shoot at the basalt framed waterfall, Svartifoss or we could even find ourselves shooting the amazing icebergs on Diamond Beach. The next day we can either shoot the sunrise back at Diamond Beach and then go across the road to check out the famous Jokulsarlon Lagoon. Another place for us to check out in the area is Mulagljufur Canyon.
10th - 11th September 2022 - ( Hof - Vik )
After sunrise we will check out of the motel and make our way towards Vik via the awesome Fjadrargljufur Canyon.
