The Faroe Islands , or simply The Faroes, are a North Atlantic island group and an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark. They are located 320 kilometres (200 mi) north-northwest of Scotland, and about halfway between Norway and Iceland and cover about 540 sq miles with a population of approx 54000

Together with our local guide and his connections, we will show you some of the more famous locations The Faroes have, as well as locations that are not so famous, but just as beautiful.

The Faroes have some of the most wild and beautiful coastlines of anywhere in the world and we can't wait to show you. We will take both boat and ferry rides to some of these epic locations.

You will come home with amazing images and memories to last a life time.

  • 26th - 27th June 2024 - Vágar Island

After arriving into The Faroes a day or two earlier, the first 2 days of this tour will be spent on the Island VÁGAR. We will photograph the villages Bøur and Gásadalur and the waterfall of Múlafossur at sunset.

Múlafossur is famous worldwide and we can't wait to show you why. Other locations we will photograph on Vágar include Dunnesdrangar, Bosadalafossur and the amazing Trælanipa.

  • 28th June, 2024 - Suðuroy Island

An early start today as we drive  to Tórshavn to catch the ferry to Suðuroy island. Once we land there, we will go directly to the hotel and offload our stuff and make our way to the first location. We will visit places like Sumba, Akraberg and Eggjarnar and then take the mountain road to photograph the sunset.

  • 29th June - 6th July 2024 - Streymoy & surrounding Islands

Another early start today as we head north to the village of Sandvík ( Suduroy ) to photograph the amazing cliffs and sea stacks. On our return trip we stop at various locations that probably are not as famous as others but equally as impressive.

We then will make our way to the ferry terminal and return to Tórshavn on the island of Streymoy and our home for the next 8 nights. Upon arrival in Tórshavn we will go directly to the motel, check in, drop off our bags, and then head out to photograph.

Over the next week or so we visit locations such as Kallur Lighthouse, Mikladalur, Klaksvik and the amazing Mount Klakkur for a sunset shoot. We will also travel to Mykines Island to photograph the beautiful little puffins.

A sunrise shoot at Kladbaksbotnur, followed by a 2 hours boat trip ( weather dependant ) departing from Vestmanna. We will view sea cliffs and a cave from a different perspective.

A quick hike to Trøllkonufingur and a boat trip to Drangarnir is another day spent in The Faroe Islands. We have the good fortune of a local farmer who will take us to this location in his boat where we can view this iconic location from the water. He will then take us ashore so we can get the classic shots. When we are done, we will board the boat again and return to the car.

Other locations we will visit include, but not limited to are :
Sandi, Skarvanes, Dalur and Húsavík, the village  of Gjógv and the fjord Funningisfjørður. Velbadstadur, Saksun and the seas stacks Risin and Kellingin

  • 7th July, 2024 - Streymoy Island

After an amazing 11 days photographing everything The Faroe Islands have to offer, it's time to say goodbye and make our way home or on to our next destination. Armed with hard drives full of great images and memories, this trip is one you will not forget in a hurry.

Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start of the tour unless otherwise specified.

Your registration is guaranteed only when we have a deposit payment. Registrations are allocated on a first come first served basis. If the workshop is cancelled by us you will receive a full refund of your booking fees. Tour itineraries may be subject to change due to weather, road conditions or any other other unforeseen circumstances.

    Minimum numbers:

All tours are conducted based on a minimum of participants booking. This may vary according to the tour you have chosen. If we cancel due to minimum numbers not being reached you will get a full refund of the tour cost only that you have previously paid. Other bookings you may make related to this tour are not our responsibility and so we recommend travel insurance to cover this. We will only run this trip if we reach the required minimum number of guests.

    Travel insurance:

Travel insurance is MANDATORY and highly recommended for cover of unforeseen circumstances. Camera and equipment insurance is the responsibility of the individual photographer.

    Camera experience required:

A modest level of photographic experience would be advisable to get the most out of this tour. Familiarising yourself with your basic camera operations is also strongly advised. Please bring camera manuals in case we need to make adjustments to your camera settings.

    Guides Availability:

We will be assisting you to take photographs and provide tuition throughout the tour if needed. In the event of a guide being unable to attend due to illness or other circumstances beyond our control we will endeavour to provide another guide of similar experience.

What else do you need to know?

There maybe some moderately energetic walking involved to get to certain locations so please consider this related to your physical abilities. If you have any other medical conditions that might affect your enjoyment of the workshop please let us know. Evening and early morning shoots will form part of the tour. You may choose to not participate in these but we recommend that you do take part.

Early morning shoot times are entirely dependant on the sunrise times so schedules we set for departure will need to be adhered to strictly. It’s not fair to the group as a whole to have to wait for a late riser so we will leave exactly at the times we say.

As it may be chilly, please bring suitable clothing for the early and late shoots, sturdy foot wear, hat, sunscreen and camera of course…. Like any trip away from home please bring personal medication requirements.

We will meet the night before the atarts ( 25th June ) starts at our motel in Vagar to have drinks, a bite to eat and get to know each other. Please consider this when planning your travel arrangements.

    Liability Limitation Statement:

We aim to provide every participant with a safe and enjoyable experience during the tour.
