  • 9th July, 2024 - Bergen

Arrive in Bergen and have an afternoon meetup with the rest of the group before starting the tour on the 10th July.

  • 10th July, 2024 - Bergen

Bergen has long been described as one of Norway’s most beautiful cities and it’s easy to see why.

After breakfast we will head out for a full day of exploring and photographing locations that include Bryggen and the outdoor fish market.

We could also take the cable car to the top of Ulriken, and at 643 metres above sea level, this location provides amazing views over Bergen.

  • 11th - 12th July 2024 - Eidfjord

We will depart Bergen in the morning and make our way east towards Eidfjord via Skjervsfossen. We will check into our motel and then explore Eidfjord.

Reasonably close to Eidfjord is Voringsfossen and with a fall of approx 180 metres this is one of Norway’s most popular falls. There is an option to hike all the way down to the bottom if we want to go for something different.

Eidfjord is also home to some amazing beaches and beautiful landscapes that we hope to be checking out as well.

  • 13th - 15th July 2024 - Aurlandsvangen

After breakfast we depart Eidfjord for Aurlandsvangen via the scenic route Hardangenvidda and country road #50. Aurlandsvangen will be our base for the next three nights.

It is from here we will kayak along the amazingly beautiful Nærøyfjord.

The Nærøyfjord is the narrowest and best known of the many arms of the Sognefjord. With its steep mountainsides, hanging valleys, towering peaks, snowfields, waterfalls, and small hamlets, this fjord is perhaps the most outstanding natural attraction in Norway. This is an experience you will talk about for the rest of your life.

We will then take what is considered to be one of the prettiest train rides in the world from Flåm to Myrdal.

Taking approximately 1 hour each way the train takes you from sea level at the Aurlandsfjord in Flåm to Myrdal mountain station, situated 867 metres above sea level. From the comfort of a vintage train compartment, you can enjoy the changing scenery of the Flåm Valley. Before ascending into the more impassable sections of the valley, the train runs through agricultural landscapes and the old Flåm village.

We will stay in Myrdal for a few hours where we will have lunch and time to explore this beautiful little village before heading back to Flåm later in the afternoon.

  • 16th - 17th July 2024 - Geiranger

We will depart after breakfast and head north towards Geiranger and arrive early in the afternoon. It is a longish drive but following the Geiranger - Trollstigen tourist road, there will be plenty of photo stops along the way to keep us occupied. We will check into our motel and go for a walk around this charming little village.

A boat ride along what is arguably one of the most famous and beautiful fjords in the world, Geirangerfjord.  Along the way we will see the amazing and beautiful waterfalls,  Seven Sisters and The Suitor. After the boat trip you will have some free time in Geiranger before taking a drive along the world famous Trollstigen … a serpentine shaped road. This will be our location for a sunset shoot.

  • 18th - 19th July 2024 - Ã…ndalsnes

Continuing along the Geiranger - Trollstigen tourist road, we make our way to Åndalsnes. This afternoon we will take the Romsdalen Gondola up the mountain and enjoy the view while having dinner. After the return trip down on the gondola we will have time for a sunset shoot.

We will also make our way to the iconic tiered waterfall Mardalsfossen. It has two large drops and several smaller ones which drop over a staggering 600 metres.

  • 20th - 21st July 2024 - Trondheim

We depart Åndalsnes and head north towards Trondheim via the national tourist route E6 and arrive early afternoon. We have the rest of the afternoon and all day tomorrow to explore what this town has to offer… everything from gothic cathedrals to cute little cafes and pristine beautiful lakes. A great way to end our Norwegian road trip.
